MALLIA

Dating back to at least the Late Middle Ages we find, amongst others, an Arrigu Mallia listed on the Militia Roster of 1417.

Of Siculo-Greek origin, it most likely comes from the greek mallias  or malleas , meaning "a weaver of wool".  Alternatively, the Greek malliaros  means "long-haired".

This combines a diagonal bendy patern in alternating gules (red) and or (gold/yellow) with what can perhaps be interpreted as a striped paly patern in argent (silver/white).
