FORMOSA

First seen in Malta in the Militia Roster of 1417. It is almost certainly the feminine from of the Italian formoso, meaning “beautiful, handsome”, in turn from the Latin formosus meaning “plump, shapely”.

Both doves and laurel leaves are symbol of peace as well as  glory and victory. Set squares, whilst connected with  Freemasonry, also indicate accuracy and precision.
